Elizabeth Mckee: McKee Piano Studio, Piano Lessons in Clayton, Cloverdale and Langley

About

Elizabeth Mckee

ARCT, BMus, MMus

As soon as I could reach the keys of the piano, I was determined to take lessons. Coming from a musical family, my parents were thrilled that I wanted to learn and sent me to my grandmother, an accomplished pianist, for lessons. That was 20 years ago, and since then my life has been a whirlwind of musical study, performances, examinations and festivals.

Throughout my years of study, I completed many Royal Conservatory of Music examinations and achieved First Class Honours in Grade 10 and ARCT Piano Performance. I have also received top awards in competitions, such as the Kiwanis Fraser Valley International Music Festival and the B.C. Registered Music Teachers’ Association Music Festival. Following graduation from high school, I attended Kwantlen Polytechnic University for a Diploma of Music, the University of Victoria where I received a Bachelor of Music degree, and the University of Leeds where I completed a Master of Music degree. Throughout my musical education I have had the honour of learning from and performing for top musicians and teachers from around the world.

I am passionate about music of all genres and consider it a privilege to share my knowledge and love of music with piano students of every age. My approach to teaching is to guide students into an awareness of how music can enrich their lives and be a delightful life-long companion. I provide enjoyable lessons that allow students to gain confidence and develop a love of music.

I specialize in preparing students for examinations, festivals, and performances of all kinds. Past students have received exceptional marks in both practical and theoretical examinations. Students under my tutelage are given the necessary tools to succeed in their musical endeavours.

Playing the piano has been a lifelong dream. After retiring I thought it was time to realize this dream. Taking piano lessons with Elizabeth McKee has well surpassed all my expectations. Elizabeth’s commitment, passion, knowledge and teaching style has given me such confidence in learning to play the piano. She makes it so much fun and brings out the best in my limited musical talent. She has helped me prove that you are never too old to learn and realize your dreams.

It is our great pleasure and gratitude that we share comments on our experience with Elizabeth Mckee. Elizabeth has been a piano teacher for both of our kids since September 2014. She is a dedicated teacher who gets along with the kids very well. She is always committed to finding each child’s abilities and talents. My kids truly enjoy learning piano from her.
